EcoMAX Sustainable Living is also about being a responsible steward and keeping a balance between what you use and what you leave for future generations. That spirit of acting responsibly in everyday life reflects how MAX wants everyone in the River Region to Get Ahead in their financial lives.

This year's month-long EcoMAX event held in August will give you resources and ideas you can use to enhance your living. Every Thursday evening we'll hold FREE member education classes and on Fridays we'll host FREE mini-expos at our Eastdale location, with new perspectives and things you can use right away.

nominations for MAX's Green Leadership Award

Nominations are now being accepted for MAX's 2009 Green Leadership Awards.

In conjunction with our EcoMAX event, MAX recognizes individuals or organizations for their commitment to lead the way with sustainable living initiatives. This year's awards will also include those who set the example of sustainability with their lifestyles, homes or workplaces.

In 2008, MAX recognized four recipients:
Senator Wendell Mitchell for statewide energy initiatives that help all Alabamians to achieve affordable energy alternatives.

Representative Greg Wren for statewide energy initiatives that help all Alabamians to achieve affordable energy alternatives.

Jenkins Brick & Tile Company for conserving energy by using methane gas from local landfills to fuel its production.

The Waters for being a residential leader in energy-efficiency and green home building.
